In practice, that means that you will need to anticipate the movement of the enemy's tanks so that your auroras will already be moving in the proper direction to either keep up and in range of them if they're running away, or staying out of range if they're coming towards you.
If they get in range, all is not lost - you can very effectively dodge tank fire by strafing your auroras side to side.
