That "all else equal" is the key part. You get gun at the same time as he gets t2 (t2 takes 100 more seconds but requires 6000 less power), you have to rush in immediately and keep him from finishing his first t1 pd. On big maps if he starts way back and you can't get in, start mml spam as soon as you see he's going t2 (left arm except on cybran). Don't wait until he's got it.
From your comment about being cordoned off in Palms it sounds like you let him build up a bit before going gun and pushing. From your comment about not winning air it sounds like you need to work on your air game. And of course, if you don't scout, you can't react, so you lose.

T2 pd are countered by MML, even if he makes some massive tmd base its using more mass then your mml spam, also in that time you can go punish some other part of the map because he is spending anything on some trashy creep
remember that gun is typically more expensive then gun but gun is more immediately useful
The video turned out useful but did you see the Open Palms replay? The Badlands replay? Did you see, biass, that on Open Palms retreating was not possible - I was cauldroned in the mountain semicircle without air domination and without radar to even use my gun. On Badlands I somehow missed the moment when my opponent went to T3 and then it was uncounterable because although Titan sucks, it eats T1 for breakfast.

I know I made a mistake of not going for a gun com earlier, but the question still remains: How do I counter a T2 com? I can very well deal with people who spam excessively - I spam back, get gun com and beat the heck out of them. But PD creeps... just creep me out.
