just send a fast scout from your first facto to your opponent base, and try to see what he is building. (you will usually be able to see what is his 2nd facto) and then you can adapt. = go for a third air (if you went 2nd land) and spam some mobile T1 aa to scare him away while you build the interceptor.

1st jester is a cheese (different from 2nd air jester, which is a heavy air oriented strategy). usually spam maa and get 1 static aa in base. Make sure expending engie are well defended with maa, and try to send 1 tank to all his expension, jester won't be able to stop all the raid usually.

edit : a fast land scout is really typical in 5x5 to react at such tactic. Even in general you gonna want to know what your opponent is going for (2nd land or air),to adapt your strategy.

After being killed by an early jester( 2nd air, jester first) on a 5x5 map once again i wonder what the best way to deal with this is. When i expect a jester i usually go for 2nd air intie first, but that cant be the supposed way to counter this (too much gamble). Going 2nd air and then bomber,scout, intie does kind of work. 3rd air (or later) does not work at all i guess since there will be enemy inties by the time the airfactory finishes. I'm pretty sure this was my mistake in the my last game, but I am still curious on what is the supposed way to counter this in general.
In my experience stationary AA and mobile t1 aa dont work that well, so i must be something wrong here ? Stationary AA only protects one area and mobile AA has a hard time killing the jester ( and could be avoided/killed too). I do realise that there is a short timeframe where i can raid with my tanks, but i cant denie the mexes for long, which the jester can do to my mexes ( sniping the engy as it walks to the mex).

TLDR: How do I counter an early jester on a 5x5 map ?
