WARNING. Yhe script that checks on the same map name with map_version=n+1 should also check on whether the same person is uploading it (identical usernames?). Otherwise some idiot can replace your beautiful map with a disgusting tag in whic the sou has a mavor to reclaim and the north only a LAB.

Would it be possible to write a function that syncs the users map folder with the map vault by scanning for old versions of maps in the users map folder? Every time the function finds a sub-folder string X.vN that matches a string x.vN+1 it asks the user if he wants to update that map? Or if it is not pssoble, to scan people map folder, can FAF ask the client PCs to tell it otherwise which maps they got?

But maybe that is ia a little insecure, because there might two maps with the sme exact name in the vault? Is that possible?

I plan a notification system, but the other way around ...
Client automatilly checks the vault ...

No.

That would be a horrible idea. People who had the "older" version will desync. Replays will be fucked.

Increase the version number and upload your new version instead.

And don't upload map before testing them.
The map vault is not made for testing maps.

When a map is in the vault, assume someone already played on it, so it must be there forever.

In my opinion it is to easy to upload a map ...
e.g. everybody can reupload a map!

@Zep: Ragging_Squirell gave me the permission to edit his source code ... It is possible to send it to me?

Of course, you have to keep the same exact map name.

No need to mark older version as broken (first because I won't delete them for compatibility reasons), they won't show anymore.

It's not my code, you will have to ask raging squirrel.
But we have a private repository if he allows it.

If you're going to enforce the map_version rule for uploading in the vault, you'll also need a proper tutorial on it. Otherwise we're going to have dozens of "I can't upload my map" topics here.

np,
it is also a security function for users that uploading other maps xd
