by any chance does this solve your issue ? viewtopic.php?f=45&t=10647

(i've no idea if this is well related to what you are saying)

I am greatly anticipating the full release of ozonex's editor as he is doing a phenomenal job, but unfortunately the editor had nothing to do with this issue. The integrity of files were the issue.

Not 100%, but the source files on the server appear to corrupt the game installation for me. I had to do a "check game integrity" through Steam, it worked, then I slowly added in more files from the wiki instructions.

I noticed that most of the files that were downloaded through the Steam check were not related to actual mapping, but more from the "bulk bin" files available through the wiki link.

I will continue to investigate this issue and see if there is a repeatable occurrence when I install on my laptop sometime this week. Hopefully this can be avoided for anyone who is trying to get involved in mapping down the line.

As for props. They are far less trouble -- but I generally use the tool to place them automatically rather than by hand as demonstrated in your video. That isn't to say that they don't just crash, for no particular reason, from time to time -- as they do.

I always curse myself for not saving about every 5 minutes with the editor -- and it is a pain -- but habit takes the pain away.

So as of a few months ago I started studying and teaching myself how to use the game's map editor (kudos to all that made the wiki articles as this streamlined the process) and have enjoyed it thus far. Unfortunately, one of the critical functions of the editor - placing props like tress, reclaim, etc - crashes the "3-D view" of the editor. Below is a video showing my use of many of the function available, yet if you want to you can skip to the last 30 seconds where I get the "freeze."

So far I have attempted to reinstall Supp Comm, carefully place the files within that folder to make sure I did not screw anything up, and have been playing with some windows settings and the editor customize options. Nothing has yielded a result thus far...

If anyone has any ideas that has played with the game files, engine, etc much, please help! I really want to get maps out for the community : (
