And regarding textures: I don't know about the hazard editor, but certain things with textures cannot be done in the official editor, because the brushes behave so weirdly. There are certain transparency levels you can only achieve if you do the texture mask in an image editor.

Eventually you will want to use every tool (World Machine, Supp Comm Editor, Photoshop, some prop editing 3d tool, etc, etc) and learn how to import/export data between them all. In the end the Supp Comm editor will be the final step, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to add to your tool belt more and more. There are always many paths to get to where you want to be.

I'm just starting out myself and per the usual asking experienced individuals and looking at good examples has proved better than simply trying it out on your own.

Feel free to ask biass, Lionhardt, or myself about these matters 8-)
