My opinions how we should do it:

Two main categories: 1. Normal maps, 2. Gap/Thermo/other bs maps. We definitely have players for both kind of maps. Max map size for both categories 20x20km.

Two main stages: 1.Entry stage and 2. Voting stage
- Entry stage would start immediately when map vault is back up again, and would last 1 or 2 weeks
- 1 entry per map author
- Only correctly working and maps which are uploaded in vault can be accepted
- To name an entry you need to post faf-generated top preview image, map name and details to competiton topic in forums
- You may revise your map during entry stage ( bugfixes etc)

- Voting lasts for 1 week
- During voting stage all players can choose which category to vote, you cant vote on both
- Every voter can give 2+2 points
- 2 points for gameplay (max 1 point per map, so you need to pick 2 different maps)
- 2 points for visual outlook (max 1 point per map, so you need to pick 2 different maps)

- At the end of voting stage, 2 winners are chosen for both categories: Best gameplay in normal maps, Best visual outlook in normal maps, Best gameplay in Gap/thermo maps, Best visual outlook in Gap/thermo maps,

I wish and believe that this kind of competition would give us a bunch of good quality maps for all kind of players.

Could someone say, if that kind of voting is technically possible? Would be good if it was linked to faf account somehow

Offtopic soz boys: What is so good about Regor?

1) It's gorgeous
2) Regardless of the meta in place there a few ways to play it
3) The mexes on mountains (not just the corners) make for really awesome reward to people who use transports and hold air dominance
4) Strategically-placed reclaim that CAN be fought over but doesn't 100% turn the tide of the game like Arctic Refuge and Syrtis Major
5) The terrain is VERY well-done as opposed to a mix of open plains, paths, impassible mountains like many other maps.

Loki, Niflheim, Regor VI, Roanoake, are simply amazing maps. I'd add White fire in there if it wasn't for the ridiculous amount of reclaim.

EDIT: can't believe I forgot Forbidden pass in there. It prolly gives a bit of adv to sera/aeon but I think territory can be controlled well.

Spoiler: show
...with 2 more holes and one less organ in my body

Anyone who wills, could host it.

"Planet creation and planet destruction tourney"

Basically, my idea was to make 2 parts week long each.

During 1st week players create maps, upload them and register.

By the end of a week, TD team rates all maps and authors of 8-16 most rated maps make it to next stage. Mappers with most points total get winner of hearts. I wanted to invite Briang, Ithilis and Lyuker just to randomize map choices.

During 2 week players play "each with each" or "cycle" system or whatever it's called in English. Basically each player plays against all other participants on all maps except his own. So with 8 players each player faces 7 different opponents on 7 different maps.

Winner is decided with amount of points he got. 0-loss, 1-draw, 2- win. With even points, the priority is given to whoever has lower rating. Winner gets Planet destructor avatar.

Players also rate maps(except their own maps). Mapper who got most points gets Planet creator avatar.

2 and 3 places - standard.

You may not be a good player to win at least something in this.
