Yes. The galactic war server basically is a matchmaking service. It can request the lobby server to make multiple people join a game. The broadcasting in game result is also required for a dedicated 2v2+ matchmaker.

Hey guys,

just a tiny progress update on what has happened in the last 3 weeks:

The gw server is now able to request games from the lobby server. The lobby server then asks one of the players to launch the game, and afterwards all other players to join. This works similar to Ladder. You just see the "setting up automatch" window in the game. Until recently we required some dirty hacks to make this work, but as of now we have full support in gw-server, java lobby server and java-faf-client to make this happen (parts of it are not parte of the main branch in the source code though).

Our next issue to tackle is the parsing of game results. I added some code to the java lobby server to broadcast the results for each ended game, so that the gw server can listen to this and process the results. But the message currently does not arrive.

By the way: all games are hosted using ICE. Awesome

Don't give up hopes yet. I got an explanation of the project structure (backend) from brutus last week and will start work on this. (to me the backend looks like a lot is already completed)

I have no idea of the status of the frontend, the major issue with the backend currently seems to get the integration with FAF running.

As long as you don t pay the people spending time to get this done.
They will always find some other things, which are more important.
Especially real life things.

I mean how long are we waiting now? Already 4 years? Well hope dies last i assume.
