1) At the games main menu, click on "Extras" then "Mod Manager".
2) Select the mod you wish to test.
3) Return to the main menu then exit the game.
4) Create a short cut to launch FA.
5) Open the shortcut and look for the "Target" executable.
6) Add this statement to the end the string: /map PerfTest /showlog

Example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander - Forged Alliance\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe" /map PerfTest /showlog

This is what mine looks like...

7) Click on your PrefTest shortcut and allow FA to run on it's own.
8) The performance score is listed at the end of the programs cycle. (Run time is approx 7 minutes)
9) Finaly, re-run the entire pre-test but this time without the mod.
10) Compare the two runs. (higher is better)

Note(1): It's important that PrefTest on a clean system with no other programs running. Otherwise the score could be influenced in ways that are not predictable.

Note(2): Do not touch or do anything on the computer while PrefTest is running, for the same reason as cited in note #1.

Note(3): Running the test in windowed mode is best as it allows viewing of the Log window while PrefTest is active.
