nope, that was also my first thought but change names around doesn't help, it's also not the only mod with that problem

This is a bug in the LuaParser. I think it is caused by the apostrophe in the modname. The LuaParser was written by Raging Squirrel. I don't know if he is still around, but maybe he can fix this?

You can also download mods through the downloader.

Btw, some mods have their version names in the modname. Would it be ok if these names were changed to a versionless thingy. You know, keeping it all clean.

how does the versioning work exactly? if a v2 is uploaded is the v1 overwritten? can only the modauthor upload a v2? i ask because most of the UI mods dont have an icon and i could make some and upload them as v2

Keep the same name and increase the mod version. Nothing is overwritten.

At some point, there will be an option to only display the latest version.

For downloading icons & mods, you should probably replace it with the download Manager that was introduced recently, it's not blocking (don't freeze the inteface):

Code:
2013-08-29 01:45:11,542 DEBUG    faf.modvault         Uploading mod from: C:\Users\John\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\Mods\Actual Nothing But Time
2013-08-29 01:45:22,529 INFO     faf.modvault         Something went wrong parsing the path
2013-08-29 01:45:22,529 INFO     faf.modvault         Something went wrong parsing the path

EDIT: "Something went wrong parsing the path" is displaying because the mod doesn't have an icon. That shouldn't matter.

And when trying to download it (it did display in the vault):
Code:
2013-08-29 01:45:39,647 WARNING  faf.modvault         Mod download or extraction failed for: http://www.faforever.com/faf/vault/mods/Actual%2520Nothing%2520But%2520Time.v0001.zip
2013-08-29 01:45:39,647 WARNING  faf.modvault         ModVault download failed with HTTPError, mod probably not in vault (or broken).

My guess is that it breaks if there is a space in the name.
