You can override the VM detection easily.
I already played normal + VM for the dev-test.

V Just use teamviewer or similar to another computer. Since the slight lagginess doesn't matter it would work great. Especially since you play on a medium speed computer already.

Well I'm more interested in running to host a game while watching another in a VM.

IF i wanna look at the lobby, I can just turn the head, I play windowed, and I have 2 screens.

It's absolutely not to smurf, I mean in any case there's like 3 players from Singapore

To make this clear:
Because we say "Unique.dll is ineffective" we are not gonna remove the smurf-protection!
There are several other ways to remove Smurfs - the discussion for this is highly technical, so we may not get into detail here (in the forums)

There was a discussion about moving the Lobby into the FAF-Client a while ago - if (big if) this gets real you can be in lobby while watching a replay, too.

I think it's something like GPGNET://faforever.com/.....
There should be a copy of the link in the livereplay tab or in the chat when you start playing.

You can, right now, replay games (or livereplays) in a VM. Just launch FAF in a command line with the link to the replay/livereplay you want to see. Or link your account to steam, and you will be able to connect from a VM too.

But even if people are still playing their prima donna about smurfs, well wtv, forbid the "live" playing form VM => no smurf can play games. No issue

I'm quite sure you can already use a VM if your account is linked to steam. Same for linux.

Removing the UID would lead to chaos. When FAF didn't have any UID, most people had at least 3 accounts, some a dozen.
Removing the UID but keeping the steamlink is the way to go, but a lot of people won't want it. So they have to deal with the restrictions that come with it (no VM or linux is one).
