Thank you so much! It is working and I just did it wrong. I have to pause the factory and somehow did this before just without remembering this.

Damn, I am sorry rxnnxs, I had some previous factory build templates that were messing me up. There is a trick and some extra annoying steps to get it to work.

First, when you build a new factory (do not queue up any units to build just yet), do you see the Build Templates button highlighted as shown in the image below. (Should be bright and not faded out).

If you do (CASE A, will explain further below), follow these steps.

-Pause the factory (VERY IMPORTANT, will explain just below these steps)
-Queue up the units you want to build in the order you want to build
-Select Build Templates button (the one highlighted in the above image)
-You should now see the Save Template button, click it and icon of the first unit of your build queue will pop up.
-Remember to END (End Game in menu) your game, do not Exit to Windows. When you end the game you go the score screen and back to the main menu. If you Exit To Windows, your build templates will not be saved and will be lost.

Back to the first step, you must pause the factory to enable the template function to appear. If the factory is constructing units it will not allow you to create templates. You can pause a factory while it is building a unit, and it will allow you to create a template.

Going back to where I wrote CASE A; there is a small bug where the Build Templates button is just not selectable. If you click on Selection and Storage button (the second one below the Construction button that looks like a wrench) I had said that this is where the Save Template button is. Unfortunately that does not work anymore.

Just by selecting the Selection and Storage and clicking on the Construction Button, the Build Template is faded out. To get it back, unselect the factory and select it again.

I hope that clears that up.

Well my problem is, on two OS (win XP and Win 7) it is not working for me.
i press the button and then there happens nothing. could you please tell me that it works for you?

What's so bad about the current one? It's only two clicks. Compared to... 7 - 20 without it.

That said, I wouldn't object to a new button to access unit queue templates, I might actually use them then!

It is because factory queues were implemented with GAZUI and not part of the original game.

Woohoo! Crzay! This game always suprises with unknown features, even after so many years!

But this function is so ridiculously well hidden... completely unintuitive and doe snot even go along with how those buttons work for structures.

No, when you select a factory and go to groups, the template button is for factory queues.

Well well, I know you are busy doing much things for FA(F). Great work you do. Maybe someday in the future there is time and nice that you thougth about it. I could really use it and i would not have to search for the key (as many others do or lets say, some even do not know it is possible..).

There is a button, but it is kinda hidden. In the first image you had posted, you can see where it is; selecting the group button will show the create template button. Moving that button right to the front though will help a lot.
