Really is it SUCH a big problem to just make them ASF immune and solve the entire issue in one fell swoop with now downside?

How would making drones untargetable by ASFs (is such a thing even possible? Untargettable by one specific unit?) be a "massive buff"? They only have 6hp, so, to use your Monkeylord example, the ML itself could just shoot them down. Given how easy it is to produce low-end AA, and how slow the drones are, it hardly seems like making ASFs unable to target them would make that much of a difference. But it would solve the problem at hand.


Increasing the drones' flight altitude to equal or exceed ASFs would be a workable solution, but really guys, come on... That would look really, really stupid. We should be bothered by that.

Because even if you could do that, they would still instaKO your base's shields, which is deadly when comboed with Arty bombardment.


Yes, but it is a known risk. Losing all of your buildings to air-to-air is too much, but losing your shields isn't game-breaking. As Funkoff's flippant reply suggests - build defenses to protect your drones.

Changing air-to-air damage as Golol suggested (or making drones untargetable by ASFs, if possible) seems like a much better, simpler, more straightforward starting point to try than the other ideas so far.

Maybe killing the asf projectiles as soon as their target is destroyed will also help prevent collateral damages.

- make drones untargetable for the aa weapon of T1-T2-T3 fighters/bombers/gunships and add another "very low damage weapon(health of a drone per pass)". That weapon could be some sort of laser(Cerberus) and should only target drones and perhaps other ground units. Health of drone is 6. So one pass of 100 asf make 600 damage.Any shield even mobile t2 can regenerate that damage easily.
- if its possible: damage from aa projectiles to shields reduced. shield of continental should than be reduced and health increased
- reduce health of all air units and all aa dps to 1/12

Or why you prefer this , instead of taking obvious measures to guard those units. That they can be easily killed by asfs , sometimes at seton's , can't be a serious excuse. Ordinary engineers can be massacred by any ordinary land units; should we make them invulnerable to ground fire?

Drastic solution a make all air units have 1/10 HP and 1/10DPS like Vanilla. Also lowering sam & flak DPS. This would make and ASF (read hawk) attack only do 40dps each compared to 400. this would make the ASF strafing run have no effect on a fire base. (really 1/10 of the effect)
