This can be implemented with a simple Blueprint Mod. Change the Build power of the factory, and increase it's cost. Which is effectively the same thing as what you are suggesting. Except of course that the engineers would never be created in the first place, and could not be deployed from the factory.

Increasing Fac BP, Or having alternative Facs with higher BP is a better option. Because one of the issues is Unit Cap consumption. Less engineers means more unit cap for fighting units.

You can attack build power just destroy the factory and you destroy all engies inside. So factory snipe is an option. If you dont want to risk loosing all of your engies just put some outside and the majority inside.

This has been brought up before. IIRC, no one who could code it thought it was a better idea than engymod. Failed before, no need to bring it up again with the next patch containing engymod.

At the moment attacking build power is a tactic. I'm not sure making it easy to eco (buildpower goes with that I think) is a good thing. Don't want to turn the game into a all out spam fest.

Who is going to build T4 if T3 ends up dominating?

Not shooting your idea down or anything, I also suffer with engines blocking units. Letting the engies assist other engies seems to work better than having them all assist the factory.

Possibly if engies can be made to hover above ground units when assisting but not so high that ground units can't shoot them?

i cheked engy mod. It's all about rebalancing build power -> more factories -> less t1 engies -> less lag better pathfinding

my idea:
put engies which normally assist outside into factory -> better pathfinding hopefully less lag.

the engies can get out of factory if needed elsewhere.
