There is a list of icons that are generally used in-game, all of them have 3 information:
- tech level (dots) -> 1,2,3,exp
- type of unit (form) -> ship/sub fighter/bomber/transport, tank/bot, factory/non factory
- primar purpose (symbol inside) -> anti-air/direct-fire/anti-navy, missile/artilery/anit-missile, and special= intel/anti-intel/shield/transport/sniper/armored/bomb/enginering/etc/etc/etc...

But not all units in FAF follow this meaning, some of them are wrong, and some of them should prioritize purpose over form (bots vs tanks -> strong vs agile)

So there is list of the units that already have the wrong icon or shape, and why it does not follow original supcom meaning:

- Sacu gateway (should have factory rectangle shape), transport icon inside is also wrong, while it not transport at all
- t2 bomber (have wrong shape, while its more bomber as a fighter, and should have anti-air symbol so its recognizable also second function, while bomber shape say first one)
- t1 frigates (have intel symbol, where firgates is obviously not intel unit, it direct fire)
- t2 destroyers ( have torpedo symbol, while destroyer puropse if far more direct-fire as anti-submarine weapon, all of them should be same as Valiant)
- t2 beetle, technically its bot, and have tank icon

This are units wrong by curent supcome logic so ifs posible to call it bug ?

There is a suggestion to change logic more to purpose-focused, where shape should be more for purpose as actual form.
Tank icon, on my opinion, should be used for units that are main/armoured unit, bot icon to secondary/agile unit

T1 tanks + mantis = tank icon
T1 labs = bot icon -> you know what you have, while lab have same icon as mantis
T2 all main tanks+aa/mml/bots that are more slow as fast = tank shape
T2 hover/amphibious/range bots/beetle = bot shape
T2 Range bots different symbol (armoured, from t3 perci/brick) inside
T3 main unit (harb, brick, perci, outhum) = tank shape,
T3 fast aka loyalist/titan/snipers = bot shape
T3 battleships = armored symbol sae as T2 range bots, while the main purpose of this units is bombarding from distance, Aeon one, and UEF battlecruiser stay direct-fire
experimental add symbol inside, so shape say tech level information, but symbol should say primary purpose.

Defensive buildings, aka PD AA torp t2 artilery tmd, shields, stealth -> add new shape - octagon
