This is very closely related to adding non repeat orders to a factory that is on repeat.
oh yeah that's even a better idea than what i am asking for !

Why don't you just turn repeat off? That's what i do, it's not a big deal, especially for a HQ.

and then your factory don't produce any unit when your queue is empty ? nah that's not a solution

I'd add that soft stop on giving and removing factory assist commands would be nice too.

I would like to know if there is any possibility of having a hotkey that would :
remove all unit in the queue but the unit currently being build in the factory until it get done.

for example : you have 4 T2 land facto producing unit, you want to "soft stop" them to be able to upgrade them all at once after finishing the unit they are building, but you don't want the T2 tank to be build in your T3 factory afterwards.

currently, you need to either : stop all production and launch the upgrade (lose mass/unit); "soft stop" and then come back after the unit is build and manually remove it from the queue (lose apm, and need to remember about it); or the trick would be to add tons of unit in the queue after the upgrade so the T2 tank never get build (maybe use an ultra long "unit template"; not super intuitive edgy trick)
