I wouldn't try and spend time developing an algorithm for this if I were the dev team, even if they had free time.

But there is no need.

They had this in Galactic War. It was an, "ACU automatically initiates recall when inactive at the beginning of game", function. It was marvellous.

People could abuse this, it worked in gw because for the most part it was anonymous. Before you say you knew who a lot of people were and used it, this is an exact example of how it would be abused.

First suggestion with problem introduction:
Search ladder for 10 minutes.
Get a match.
Oponent quits because of rating (miss-)match/map.
I search again and get the same match with the likely same outcome.
Would it be feasable to add a mechanic which encourages to stick to a game?
As in: a game that didn't last 60s makes the loosing side receive a 5minute cooldown until it can get a match again in generall or with the specific person that was matched. Right now I don't see any incentive for anyone (including me) to keep closing unfavuorable matches. Meanwhile people who are repeatly matched with quick quitters like me get matched over and over again and get frustrated.
As I see it rating won't help here as people spam ladder to get those -400 deviation matches they want or spam cntrl k to lower their rating or don't get affected by the rating change resulting in the losses at all.

In combination to that cooldown I would very much welcome a cooldown to the maps. Right now the seemingly pure randomness can lead to a anoying amount of repition. An aproach that makes the map played the longest time ago the most likely to come up for either player I would welcome alot. The "this sucks, I just played this map and I don't want to play it again" would be avoided.

I hope similar wasn't suggested elsewhere and that my input is regarded positively.
