Maybe every clan with 30+ people can apply for a sub forum which is hidden by all not clan members. That would reduce the ammount to 11 clans atm moderated by the clan leader who has to apply the subforum for his clan.

Setting up these forums isn't as simple as giving clan leaders the ability to create them since that requires administrative access and I'm sorry but I'm not giving that to every clan leader as you can understand... So every one of these subforums would have to be created by Sheeo or, more likely, me and Voodoo.

Having these forums visible or not is not my main concern but you more than likely would want them to be accessible only by people in your clan so it'd require the setup I described earlier.

I have no interested in moderating these clan forums so having them hidden would be most desirable but that does not take away that blatantly illegal or offensive content should be allowed to be posted there.

In short, it is much easier if you just set up your own forums (which you can do for free on the website I linked above) and then you can do with them exactly what you want.

forum pms are not moderated last time i checked

still i think this might be interesting to try out. would need some rules that it needs a post at least every few months or it gets deleted or sth, and perhaps only created on request.

the largest issue i see with this is more work for the moderators to create the channels; then give power for someone to add/take people away from said channel. after that no maintenance for that channel required. the moderator themselves doesn't need to be able to see it all the time either, to avoid it being cluttered for them.

again, not a hugely bad idea, but meh, if it doesn't happen we wont lose much, but we wont find out what we could have gained. if we try and it fails then at least we know.

Clan have also Clan Chat on FAF obviously whiteout any moderatoars

This wouldn't be entirely correct. A forum which is being hosed on http://www.faforever.com would need to be moderated by duly appointed FAF moderators. To only way to avoid this is to create your own forum on a different domain.

Legion, i dont fully understand what is problem with it. Moderators dont need do nothing more as add clan leader ability to create clan subforum and manage it. Clan leader will send rights clanmates to be parth of it or manage it. Same as there exist secrete balance team subforum or balance testers subforum. How hard it was to crete it? 5minute? I will bet that less.

It dont must be from start to every clan, most of clast will never ever use it and will never ever ask for this posibilities.

This was particularly relevant when the Galactic War was operational - and in UEF GW team we solved this by creating our own private forum. It was not an ideal solution, and the FAF forums would be the more appropriate place for this sort of thing.

I'd like to see sub forum spaces made available to suitably large sized clans. It could not however be totally secret - as I understand that moderator access would be a requirement when operating on FAF. I understand that it might be an administrative headache. But this sort of communication is sometimes essential for the effective functioning of a clan. The only other solution is to resort to the creation of external forums to have a private conversation space - or otherwise the ability to send private messages to a member list who identify as being in the same clan.

A game I used to play a very long time ago had this and it worked out very well, they're still up from the looks of it http://forum.toribash.com/forumdisplay.php?f=97. I'm not saying it would work here though, but I don't know.

I'm sorry but this is a bad idea.

First off we'd have to give one to every clan that wants one or at least create strict requirements for getting one such as having x amounts of members and having been active for y amount of time. Secondly we'd have to either manually add every clanmember to their respective forum or set up a usergroup for every clan and let the clan leader sort out adding his members to it. The second method takes less effort but since it's likely that people have never used there groups before, it's also likely that we'll have to teach them how to do it. Lastly I suspect that these forums would be used rather overwhelmingly compared to the effort it takes to set it all up and in the end there's a bunch of dead forums nobody posts in when you can easily create a free forum for your clan yourself if you really need one.

And to really nitpick I'd say it would also make a mess of the interface for anyone who can see all the new clanforums and usergroups but even if we disregard this the points above still stand.

i suggested this before. Reason for me was uef clan is not organized and people are from all time zones. To create a team for a tourney like this 4v4 lately is impossible since i cant sent messages to anybody. I was able to talk to them when online they told yes maybe will be here, and then havent seen them online again chat. Communication is a problem for us. I dont want to create a system seperate from faf where people have to sign in. The clan app was already a great thing. Maybe inside the clan app could be created something like a small forum and a place to add a message of the day for the clan channels inside faf.

people told it will be not used. possible ....

Hellou, i god idea that is total ussles for 90% clans, but can be usefull and interesting for 10% others.

And that is give clans place in forum with secrete room, where access will have only clan memeber and will be invisible for people who are not parth of clan.
