What, if any, is difference then between attack ground and return fire?

Attack ground has an extra function where you can press the attack order button (the icon on bottom left menu, or A), and give the attack order on clear ground or a wreck, and the unit(s) will fire at it. With return fire, I think it just acts as an attack move if you try that, but you can just alt-right click to do that. Attack ground is particularly useful to get around the annoying bug with upgraded enemy structures that reject attack orders--attack ground right next to it and hold shift to move the attack command onto the target.

The cycle fire mode hotkey is bound to [ by default. Have to click it 3 times, but it doesn't work well if there's lag, since you need to keep it on hold fire long enough for it to register... rather just toggle on and off.

Party mod is "UI Party"? Is it compatible with this patch? I'm very wary of mods not uploaded after the latest patch release date.

There are times I want to quickly switch to hold fire, and back to firing at will, such as to force a target change to something closer more straight ahead of where I'm walking, or to force sort of a synced or cascade fire with long range siege units. Having to cycle through one more fire mode creates a hassle, and needing to remember to switch in order to use the attack ground adds a lot of clicks.
