If you have multiple slave factories each with different built rates due to assisting engineers, and then on top of that different units in the main queue, this will not be easy to figure out, especially if you make it dynamic so that it can handle if a factory is lost.

As for showing what the unit being built in the slave factory, that would be nice.

1. You would like the build queue from the master factory to appear as faded or shadowed in the slave factories.

If you have many slave factories assisting, then each will be feed from the master factory build queue and will build the next item in the queue when they are ready. The slave factories build queue will always be changing because the next item in the queue may go to another slave factory that has more build power, for instance. It makes more sense to keep the build queue only shown in the master factory, because it is only there you will truly know which unit will be assigned to built next.

yes and no , if main fac is on loop there would be no problem, tested it

I think it work like this : main fac has has queue --- main fac send request to build 4th unit(example) into slave fac --- shadow queue is appear in slave fac. and start building --- same again

dont see problem at all
----------------
1) main fac. has queue 3x mantis,2x medusa, 3x mantis on loop
2)main fac start build 2nd mantis(example)
3)slave fac. is made
4)queue is copied from main to slave as shadow queue
5)slave fac start build 1st mantis and then another
6)main fac. is building 3rd mantis, slave 2nd mantis
7)main fac. queue is changed to 10x medusa
8)in slave's queue remain not completed manta(building is continue), rest of old shadow build order is deleted and new build order is added in(10x medusa)
9)slave fac will finish not completed mantis and then start build 10x medusa

And probably see icon of currently build one with progress bar or sonething, basicly like in normal factory, but make it faded to let player know that he can't change this queue here.

2. When you queue up a unit in the slave factory directly you want the master build queue to pause and then continue when the slave factory is done with its own player specified build queue.

This is already the case. If a slave factory is building a unit from the master factory build queue and a user selects a unit to be built directly from the slave factory, the requested unit will be built AFTER it has finished with the unit currently under construction (from the master factory build queue).

Do you mean to cancel the unit being built (from the master factory build queue) and start immediately building the unit the player has specified from the factory? Then once complete, go back to the master factory build queue and start the next unit in the build queue.

I can see that as a fair strategic feature, sacrifice the resources on a unit that is not complete to start building a unit that is needed immediately. Perhaps we can do this with a keyboard key modifier where if you hold down certain keys and then click to build a unit, it cancels the current unit being built and immediately queues the unit for immediate build. The you will let go of the certain keys and add more units to the queue if you wish. Once done with its local build queue, it will jump back to the master factory build queue.

It is going to need that keyboard key modifier. This is not like TA where you get a refund for canceled units, and people are going to get upset on wasting resources.

I think this was suggested before, the problem was that the stop command that is needed acts on all the order aspects of a factory (building, assisting, and build queue) and a solution was not found to stop a specific order without affecting the other orders. But this was from a while ago, perhaps someone has figured out a solution in some of the new UI mods that are available.

A little messy work around till someone automates this, so click with caution:
- Select slave factory

- Queue the unit(s) you want build

- With the slave factory still selected, Shift-Ctrl-Alt-Right Click on master factory to cancel assist order from the specified slave factory
There is a slight pause where the slave factory will continue to build the current unit, but it will cancel the unit being built and start the units you have specified in the slave factory's build queue.

- With the slave factory still selected, Shift-Click to assign the assist order back on the master factory.

The units you want built will start, sacrificing the unit under construction, then jump back to the master factory build queue.

I just tested to make sure this works, so let us know if this does not work for you.

and when you select slave fac. and start build direct queue, then shadow queue will be moved behind direct and paused (unpaused when direct is done)
