No. It's more efficient to reclaim the wreck of a T2/T3 Mex and rebuild the T2/T3 Mex.
The upgrade costs from T2 to T3 Mex (eg) are the same as if u build a new one. So there is no efficiency when you reclaim a T3 Mex wreck and build a T1 mex instead of it, because upgrading this T1 Mex to T3 again will cost you the price of a T2 + a T3 mex, wich is more than 50% of a T3 mex when you rebuild it, and also definetly more than the additional 30% of a T3 mex wich u get back when you reclaim it instead of rebuilding it directly.

So if we are talking about how i do it. Instead of upgrading a T2 mex, i reclaim it and build a new T3 Mex to get 80% of the mass from the T2 mex back. I would do the same for mexes wich are already destroyed or at least rebuilding (after reclaiming) them, BUT at the same level or higher. It makes no sense for me to rebuild a T1 mex on a wreck of a T3 mex, because you loose 20% - 100% (it depends if u upgrade or reclaim) of the value every time, when you want to increase its level, and i really dont know why it should be intended.

And now exactly this is the problem: Your idea of building a T1 mex after i reclaimed the wreck of a T2 mex happens accidently when i try to do this with a T3 com (not keeping in mind it doesnt work for mexes at the same Tech level), causing eco inefficiency.

Anyway, it doesnt make sense to support T2/T3 Mex for engies (wich they have done now, thank you!) and not to have it for coms.

An upgraded com will still build T1 mexes.

That's intended. It's more efficienct to reclaim the wreck of a T2/T3 Mex and build a T1 Mex first. (You get 80% of the mass back)
If you rebuild the T2/T3 Mex directly you only get only 50% mass back.
With the behaviour of this mod you can be sure to get the more efficient variant.

E. G. I used this feature very often to build mexes from far away.

Imo there is a much bigger issue with oneClickWonder. That is, you often accidentally misslick on a mass spot when try to draw a selection box while having your com or an engine selected, if you have zoomed out a little. This always screw you over for a good few seconds, because by this you might just have deleted a build queue or a reclaim route etc.

bump

less leniency further zoomed out would help

Spoiler: show
One Click Wonder.
Now, by popular demand (read: like three of you) as a standalone mod!

1. Single click mex construction.

**** clicking the UI, **** build mode, and **** other UI mods (you know who I'm talking about) that help making building easier. You can't get any easier than clicking on a damn mass deposit. I'll be adding Hydrocarbons in the next release, so don't tell me to put them in . Got that working a while ago.

2. One-click (and a key) rebuilding of destroyed structures.

My abuse of WorldView may not end with constructing mexes. Grab some engineers, find something of yours that is blown up, hold Alt. and rebuild!

4. Manual Repair/Construction of something that would otherwise be Guard/Assist.

Ever wanted to power-build a factory, or repair one but not want your engineers assist afterwards? Again, use Alt. for much win; mousing over an incomplete and/or damaged structure with engineers will set the current UI order to repair. Drop a left-click on the object and you're golden.

If my UI modding revelation inspires new ideas, or ideas that were considered impossible; I'm happy to consider and investigate requested additions.

But the mod spams into you log and you cannot build T2 and T3 mexes.
I am not a modder (only familiar with java/python).
Thanks to Washy he cleaned up the spam and added T2/T3 mexes support, if you ONLY select units from the same tier.
