Listen to the guy with the 2.5k posts :)

If only some of his posts would be more substantial than this one

Ah well he is right on this one.

Yeah it also just makes up for a better gamefeeling in general when using hotbuild

here I must disagree.

I have started using the gaz/hotbuild mod. And in comparison to playing with "vanilla" methods, I am quite faster using this mod when it comes to build stuff.
Certainly, the main question "why am I again stalling mass...." does not disappear with this, but it makes life quite easier especially for noobs I would say.

The following mods are maybe the most usefull one:
GAZ_UI (reclaimcounter, more hotkeys, possible customization of all hotkeys)
hotbuild (buildings 'built on hotkey)
mass fab manager (auto switch on/off of mass fabricators)
RAS-Notify (informs your allies automaticly when you start/finish RAS on your commander)

But let's be honest: for a noob it makes little difference if you use these mods or not.

I am a noob player and certainly I get usually wiped off the map as I have to fight with a lot of things (e.g. eco...) :? .

I have read now the eco manager thread and find out bit by bit that a lot of people apparently have a number of "little helpers" that makes life easier for them.

Is there somewhere something like an "official" list of which mods are allowed or banned or strongly advised to use?

This would help relatively new guys like me a lot to get at least the same technical ingame help like all the others.

cheers

If you can play a ranked game with it (ie, it's a UI mod only) then it is fair game.

If you use mass fabers, get a fab manager. Besides that the rest are personal preference.
