Great idea, this could help reduce the risk of stupid-ally-suicide related deaths :D My suggestion to best achieve this, without causing too much annoyance from the 'commander under attack' voice, is to show all of your allies' commanders in icons on the right side of the screen (you know, like the little commander icon next to the 'idle facs' / 'idle engies'). When different commanders are under attack, their commander icons would blink on the right side of the screen and you could click on it to take the screen to their com(s). It'd also be best to have the health of the players' coms on the icon too (like the normal com icon does) The "blinking colors" could blink in 3 colors - green, yellow, and red (corresponding to the current health level of the com). ^.^ Just a suggestion for anyone that'd want to create this type of thing. ;)

That's a great, well-thought project for a UI update. It sounds like it would take awhile to code and etc.

For the short-term I like a simple audio cue, and mebee an "attack ping."

As is, doesn't the "commander under attack" only go off every so often after initial combat anyways?

Time and time again I'm sure you like me have been part of a team game where an ally is under attack while you yourself are concentrating on managing your own army/eco. Unless you are playing in mumble/Skype/Teamspeak (loser-ville)/etc it can sometimes be far too late to send help or even recognize that your ally is in trouble.

This - I think - is critical in getting team play steered in the correct direction. It's far too difficult to get a "mumble stack" if you will all the time on both teams so most people are okay with playing with randoms. That's fine and all but it's kind of difficult to type while under pressure...
