Also our team is pleased to help people (Poch, for example have done a lot of tutorial in french for beginners and more : www.youtube.com/user/PochForgedAlliance) and we are hosting a lot of unrank teamgame to improve and that could be a good way to learn in real situation, the goal will not be to rape him and get him sick of the game for sure.

Do not hesitate to come around on our teamspeak :)

(Speed2 have done a really good bunch of tutorials if he is interested in, thats a really good way to improve.. /viewtopic.php?f=40&t=9136)

Oh interesting, could be fun for both.
But how good are the guys in the learning phase?
Because my friend is totally not a 1k since he makes big mistakes, for example sometimes he only has 1/2 factory (at 7 minutes, I hope it's fixed today, plz). I'm asking that because for him it wouldn't be fun to be raped (that's why he doesn't like to play against me, no fun for him since he knows he won't win)

I prefer dieing(jk) than playing with him on these maps :( I've talked a bit about these maps (5s) but ugh, seriously it's... ugh *throws up*. I would prefer to avoid these kind of maps.

To let you know if your friend want to improve and play teamgame, you could come by our teamspeak (BFA Clan) and we could set up some balance matches as a few guys are in the learning phase as well in our team. That could be a way to learn in real situation,

We are a belgian/french team, speaking language is french :)

Ok, since he doesn't really like 1v1(could only play 2 yesterday), I guess we will do some 2v2 or maybe 3v3 and try to avoid comps.

Thanks for help.

Other than that, avoid mods that make big changes, there is a lot of the game to learn without adding a bunch more stuff.

as long as he enjoys the game, he doesnt even need to learn it - that knowledge will come by itself over time

however, if you wish to train him, i suggest playing as many games (any type) as possible, let him get a feel of the game, and give specific tips after each match. its the fastest way to learn at the start imo.

you can play coop 1v1, try different things, see what works best

or just get a zock lesson

I'm playing with a friend (total beginner, he played maybe 5/15 games 5 years ago, and he's not good at eng) and I would like to make him reach a average level if possible(the dream would be to be able to play together in a teamgame obviously without having a shitty game). The problem is that there are so many things to say and I don't want him to sink in the explanations (it's useless to tell him everything and every small things).

So, for the time being I've talked about :
-some mods (notify thing, supreme economy, hotkey thing, in order to make him use hotkeys and not clicking on icons, and told him to only use hotkeys, better waste 10s to find the right key to make a building than clicking on a icon)
-the basic commands, reclaim manual, patrol to reclaim, the crazy-reclaim-bug (alt rightclick from fact), the queue, the "repeat option from fact"
-Small presentation of all the units of his race (he likes cyb), and told him to only play on faction for the time being, unless he wants to try other factions (in this case, sure).
-A basic bo(start by land, 2 pgen, 2 mex..and then it depends)
-The reclaim (how important it is, and some weird maps to make him realize "holy shit reclaim is op", like daroza)
-Trying to make him avoid turtle at all cost, but ugh, he really likes to make his t1 pd and even turtle.
-The basic gun upgrade of com.
-How to improve eco (improve mex to t2, then mass storages and then t3 mexes)

I would like to know if there is any very important aspect I've forgotten.

And how would you train him tbh?
For the time being, we have been playing against the computers, and sometimes I play against him to show him things (but he doesn't really like it).

I'm thinking of doing that maybe : He does a 1v1 against a random opponent(not too good, but not a -300), I let him play a game without helping him, then we watch replay and I tell him what is really bad, and the next game I help him in the game by saying "do that or do that..."(not too much though, otherwise it would be me playing). And sometimes we will do 2vX comp in order to play together.
