Well alright then, but we still have no idea what speed his CPU is "actually" running at. There are different reasons for throttling to occur, and its controlled from more than one source.... I have seen many instances of Extremely bad CPU ratings in game; I can even get a 600+ cpu score from my epic CPU, it's entirely possible... but whatever, OP has answered very few of the questions, and done fewer tests.

I guess he can just wait for the CPU indicator to change, and we'll see ONLY at that point if it's his CPU or the Indicator itself.

Well SuperPi times are reasonable. So no thermal throttling there. Throttling is an unlikely scenario anyway for such a light benchmark as in FAF, and the amount of throttling would have to be staggering. Over 600 cpu rating is extremely bad / borderline impossible. And I never heard of a power scheme that makes a 2500k perform like a PIII either.

And regarding background apps OP said:

So I'm pretty sure that's not it either.

Seems OP is right and something is off with the benchmark tool.

It really depends on power schemes, thermal situations, and PC load.

Names like that. But i5 2800k does not exist. i5 2500k should get 235 or lower in lobby, depending on other system variables and background load.

Ok, you don't. With some installs I have seen there gets a huge logfile created, making the whole thing very slow.

Seems to be fine. A bit slow but that can be explained by memory settings. Superpi does not reflect real world performance very well in that regard. You can dive deeper into this by running some of the benchmarks mentioned in the link below and comparing, not only synthetic but also system and gaming benchmarks.

When you feel confident that your system is performing well and not throttling under load - remember open cpu-z and monitor clocks like I said - then something is off with the FAF benchmark in your specific case. How to solve that is a question for tech support here.

What are the temperatures when running a heavy sttresstest like OCCT or Linpack? Use realtemp to monitor. All free programs.
