Hello whats the best way to get mass abundance. Is it teching to t3 extractors or getting those metal fabricator buildings.

Mass fabricators in SupCom vanilla used to be good. In FA map control (winning more mass extractors) and upgrading mass extractors are way more important. Mass fabricators only come in when your mass income otherwise is at its maximum.

Also can somebody explain to me the shared economy.

If you produce more mass or energy than you can store, the extra part overflows to you teammates automatically, everybody getting an equal part of your overflow.
When someone asks for mass or energy, via the diplomacy window you can give him/her part of your stored mass/energy.
If you don't overflow and don't give manually, all economy you produce is yours.
If you want to structurally help out a team mate with eco, you can give (via the diplomacy window again) him/her power generators or mass extractors that you owned.
You can also eco-wise help a teammate, by having your engineers/acu/scu's assist construction of a teammates unit.

I've seen people say many times that mex upgrades require lots of power. I've even heard very experienced players say things like "I had extra power, so I made a mex upgrade". Thing is, that's not how it works. Mex upgrades are one of the *least* power intensive things you can buy in this game. A t2 mex has a mass:energy ratio of 1:6.

Of course when you can't handle the mass needed you don't upgrade yet, but when very experienced players say things like that it's because energy is more fragile (way larger fluctuation in later game if you use more energy than you produce) and it's also harder to supply your energy production with reclaim to keep you from stalling (your eco goes to shit when energy stalling, you can supply with reclaim if you're mass stalling). Provided you have reclaim on your hands of course.

Anyway, to answer the original question:

The best way is to first tech all safe mexes to t2, then surround them with storage, then upgrade to t3, and only after that make mass fabricators. The RAS upgrade, when you can afford it, is also a great investment. However, keep in mind that by far the most efficient way of producing mass is with t1 mexes. So if you can, it's usually better to fight your enemy for territory that contains t1 mexes, than to upgrade your mexes (it depends on the map).

Trees give energy and mass (usually 1:6 or 1:10 ratio afaik), plants give only energy, and rocks give only mass.

As reguards to reclaim. If i reclaim trees what do i get metal or energy. Rocks etc.

You get mass from everything you reclaim but trees have very little of it. Trees are the only thing you reclaim that give you energy.

Generally i usually try to upgrade my mex's when I've won a reclaim field or when I have some spare mass due to better income that my opponent from map control so it doesn't harm my unit production much while upgrading.
