thanks Aurion, that's the way I currently try it.

That's the best way as long as you can defend the mexes. Sometimes it's safer for your eco to get a t3 mex in your base instead of upgrading outer mexes you can't really defend (as ZLO said in his post).

thanks a lot for your answers.

The first two are easy to understand, the third one I'll try it out and see how I get along with it.

When I understand you correct, the sequence would then be to make t1 mex, upgrade all to t2, and when the first one was surrounded with storages upgrade that one to t3 before surrounding the 2nd t2 mex with storages. And certainly not stalling in all that process what I unfortunately still do as the opponents are sending stuff over that wants to kill my base :) and I therefore need to have some production going. The upgrading from t2->t3 mexes is where I still have some problems .

cheers

The most efficient sequence is actually all mexes to t2, then all mexes surrounded with storage and then all mexes to t3 (and most efficient is one at a time to prevent stalling of course, but you need enough build capacity for that at the mex you want to upgrade).

there are not much difference, but when you just reclaim you loose time while building loosing health, so reclaiming is usually worse than ctrl+l then reclaiming
HOWEVER, when it comes to units/buildings that can explode/have death weapon (you can check in database) ctrl+k thouse units you can loose units around them, or for example, if you have row of t1 power placed horizontally or vertycally, ctl+k them will lead too loosing mass cause they will damage wrecks of each other

Upgraide cost from t1 to t2 and from t2 to t3 cost same as making new building, and also as soon as you finish upgraide, lower tier unit dissapears to nowhere, but while you upgraide you still have that t2 mex that produces mass for you, but you can reclaim t2 mex and build t3 on top of it that fast so mass that you get from reclaim will be bigger than mass that t2 mex will produce while you upgraide... it is pretty easy, i hope you understand

-is it better to first upgrade all mexes from t1-》t2 and then surround them with storages or upgrade t1-》t2+surround with storages one after the other?

that is easyly calculatable and was calculated many many many times, if you discout distance between mexes and pretend that you have lots of build power then it becomes very clear: build all t1 mexes, upgraide all mexes to t2 one by one with assist, after all are t2 surround them with storages, and then upgraide them to t3.
also if you have double RAS you can upgraide it and start making mass fabs near mass extractors that one mass fab connected to two storages..

but in real game you will need alot of engyes to surround mass with storages fast, and that require alot of walkin around with engyneers, and engyneers themself cost mass, and you can choose to make less engyes and start t3 upgraide just after you surround 1 of your t2, for assisting t3 upgraide you will not need many engyes, other engyes meanwhile can reclaim trees for example, or just being not prodiced yet and be like addictionl mass in storage... according to calculations that way is less effective, however much easyer to defen your eco early

I have some questions I'd like to get an answer for.

- when i reclaim an own building, is it better to just give the reclaim command to an engie and let him do it, or is there an advantage in first Strg+K the building and then reclaiming the wreck?

- in a replay i have seen like a guy reclaimed his t2 mex and then built a t3 mex instead of upgrading it from t2 -》t3. What is the advantage of this?

-is it better to first upgrade all mexes from t1-》t2 and then surround them with storages or upgrade t1-》t2+surround with storages one after the other?

Thanks
