The Seraphim t1 arty costs a pretty significant amount more mass, and the only advantage you get for that is hover and good AOE. If you want to destroy bases, the Aeon t1 arty is actually much better as it has more DPS, higher ROF, and better accuracy than the Sera arty for less cost (Sera arty - 54 mass, all others - 36).

Therefore, you are paying 50% more for the same damage potential, but it floats. People who say that Seraphim arty is OP rarely take this into account. You can literally have 55% more damage for the same mass cost if you use Aeon artillery instead. Aeon arty is not as good at killing units, but it is better at killing bases.

As to the other complaints about Seraphim OP units, they don't have anything THAT much better than other faction's units, and they are denied in the same ways. They have strong navy (perhaps the only thing that is truly stronger than other factions) , but it is not unkillable and requires a decent bit of micro. The tanks are pretty much the same as UEF, they have similar play style, basically the same ACU upgrades in mid-game options (gun + tac + t2), and over all behave in roughly the same manner.

Point is, if you are going to complain about Sera arty rush, you have to understand that you can do this with ANY of the other factions except maybe cybran, and it would be more lethal on land based maps to use Aeon arty than Seraphim in this manner. If you see someone going arty rush, then just go all tanks. He will lose miserably as long as you dodge the arty shots with your ACU.

All artillery does this to an extent, it's meant to be effective against structures. Sera one is exceptional in that it can hover but for the rest it's easily countered by direct fire units.

What do you find OP about them? Enemy is supposed to be annoying, it's kinda the point.

Seriously, Sera are OP and very annoying. I really don't like how they are basically an asymmetrical version of UEF.

How the f*** are they UP? Their guncom is op, their arty is op, their bomber is op, their combat scout is op, t2 bot is op, the only place where they might be considered UP is T3 and no more so than Aeon who's T3 bot is a medium rather than a heavy like the UEF and Cybran equivalents.

Well yes I was raging somewhat but I maintain my sense of puzzlement of why someone would want to play as asymmetrical aliens instead of the other factions. Also the reason you couldn't find me in chat is because I (deservedly) have been banned for raging.
