Polygon had an interview with Chris Cooke who is Wargaming's PR director in North America. He said about Chris Taylor's team: "what he and his team are going to focus on in terms of prototyping and concepting will be free-to-play," but didn't say what the project was.

I'm still cautiously optimistic, though. I paid for beta access to PA but after seeing how it is shaping up in the alpha I'm not all that excited, honestly... F2p can still be good, and who knows -- maybe CT is working on something other than TA, or maybe the PR director doesn't know what he's talking about.

Oh yes its really true Chris taylor is working on sequel Total Annihilation .

Bether then the crap that PA will be...

In this future generation rts,there are 2 things about PA and 3 things to TA2.
1 the failures, like gpg and Supreeme 2,scar any company that now, try make a similar game.
I think they now wy, by some reason, a rts like Starcraft that isn´t so good has the SCFA,is for so many years the nr1,we now its not true ,but its the way it is!
Or they now very well what they must do to bring again the CT magic,or all them reputation will be ruin.
You guys now how many times they try to lunch a new game after the FA and,failures after failures......
Im on PA alpha , PA or will be a great game,but diferent then what we are ust,its good play same game with diferent things to refresh.(its what i feel)
or will be again another failure.
So CT and his teams will watch the feedback off all progress off PA,will see what will happend to PA when official released, and will try decide what is it bether to do, make a game to call players,its not easy this days, give players the pleasure off a new game ....

So what, even if its f2p, it might just be like: for free you have one faction; if you like the game, buy it and get full access. Dont see any problem with that.

And that's a proof that real video game journalists are very few

Valve last games were f2p (Team fortress 2, DOTA2) and very successful, do you think Half life 3 will be ?

I'm not, I was just expressing my opinion on the idea of FTP RTS in general, sorry if it was a bit off topic.

F2P RTS is a very bad idea IMO, you would have to have some pretty sweet cosmetics, because there is no way I would play with one that was designed around a progression system.

One of their strategy when buying several game studio was to diversify their offer, so I don't think that if they are making TA2, il will be f2p. There is no reason for it. They've made more "normal" games than f2p.
