I voted Liberal, which is partly why I feel so betrayed. Hell i sound like a whining tree hugger reading all that back when things aren't so bad.

There will always be capitalism, I find it hard to accept that and the exploitation that goes with it. What worries me is not the world I will eventually leave (100 years or so is optimistic but who knows) its the world I will leave behind for my little girl and our unborn child.

I would love to be one of the rich ones, but it seems they are doing everything they can so that the average Joe like me can't make any real money.

Im not so familiar with the goings on in Germany so perhaps you can enlighten me if things are as bad?

Next time by the way I will be voting as per Brewsters Millions "none of the above"

The most radical my little brain can think of at the moment would be Karl Marx + Friedrich Engels. Not only are they proposing to disown the rich, they are also suggesting to abolish the state, so most of the powerful people are covered. See if you can get books written by them from your local library.

What bothers me is that people band the word "freedom" around when really it doesn't exist.

Going even deeper one could argue that free will does not exist, not that I want a religious debate but do you make your decisions or your brain?? Do you exist other than the ball of mass (not to be reclaimed) that walks around and talks or is there something else that controls your actions??

We ARE controlled at every level of our existence in real life and on FAF accepting that is the only way to retain sanity in this world.

I think we're lucky to have a largely-friendly group of good-natured people, perhaps it's the size of the community, perhaps it's that this type of game has an older and arguably wiser userbase than some other genres. As for acceptable or unacceptable behaviour, my general attitude is that it is not cool to flame anyone and it is not cool to swear at anyone. A bit of swearing as part of the conversation though seems to be fine and natural, just as long as it doesn't get ridiculous or start to be happening for the express purpose of disrupting or offending.

Any sort of racially-charged terms are a complete no-no. Even if you don't mean it and even if you can joke about it with friends, for all you know the person you're playing against is a person who suffers genuine racial abuse on a daily basis. FA is what we do in our leisure time, and we're hopefully all mature enough to know that spoiling somebody's free time through being an asshole is not cool.

Not sure where I stand on words like "fag" though. It strikes me as a word that can be used with obvious and intentional humour and taken as such, but then the same scenario applies as above, so probably best to avoid it unless you know the people you're playing with well.
