Thanks for the link to Balanced Annihilation, I somehow never heard about this and it looks awesome! I had tried Planetary Annihilation and it didn't quite feel like what I was craving, so I simply sometimes run the original 1997 vintage TA when I need it too much.

Well for those who like the FAF and want to try something similar we have a few options:

Of course start with the classic from where everything came about:

Then in 2005 we had free Linux version - TA Springer, unfortunately it was made only multiplayer,
but today we have one of its best games complete with campaign and multiplayer in Zero-k: https://store.steampowered.com/app/334920/ZeroK /

We have an excellent Supreme Commander Vanilla campaign with all CGs: https://store.steampowered.com/app/9350 ... Commander/

Of course the controversial and despite being bad sequence, it is an excellent game, Supreme Commander 2: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4010 ... mmander_2/

From this then we have nothing else like Forged Alliance, some say Ash of Singularity Escalation 2016, but it really is not I do not recommend. Play dumb and very understanding.

Go for Senton. I heard that is better than FAF.

Obviously Planetary Annihilation.

Zero-K is free on Steam. It's another Total Annihilation derivative but much closer to TA than SC is.

Ashes of the Singularity is quite recent and has great graphics.

I love it! I was not born when this game was online!

Its a great story. But I think its too old to play..

Supreme Commander 2 looks not good. It looks like Fortnite. I like mass and energy.
