What do people use thumb buttons and the extras for?

The most important question is: Should a mouse look like a Cybran unit?

You got lucky, then. What's your take on it?

It came yesterday to my other house, I was over there late so I only had the chance to get it out, I'll use it today.

The DeathAdder feels good, moves well, and is devoid of unnecessary buttons.
However, after only 2 years the left mouse button clicker is already starting to bounce (1 click registers as many clicks)

My last Razor I also had to replace because the clicker was bouncing, and when I googled I found more people are complaining about that.

I'm buying a new mouse in the next half year... I'm not sure which yet.
...I might get a new DeathAdder because it works great.
...Or I might try another because of the quality issues.

Yeah, but don't get it used. I would not recommend it since the optical sensor could be damaged without your knowing-so.

I hope you haven't led me astray Morax, just ordered it.

Please tell me you did not get used like Aulex suggested... mice are one of the components I wouldn't get used since people mishandle them quite a bit.

I tried a steelseries mouse and broke the scroll wheel in less than 3 months. Maybe I got a bad mouse though?

I tried a Roccat Kone and broke the scroll wheel in 2 days. ^^ But i also tried the steelseries sensai and the sound of the wheel was horrible. My first thought was, how long?
Anyway i bought the logitech G402 now and i'm more then happy with it. I know that the MX512 is great but the lazer whimpers (only when your ear is near it) but if you know it then you can't ignore it. Btw my old logitech G5 is 11 years old now and still working.
