Haven't tried the RAM thing.

Next stop is to get some new RAM, although testing has previously not shown any hardware problems. Having some extra RAM certainly won't be a bad thing.

I have reinstalled everything again and if anything it is worse than ever, even when connected directly to the (new and expensive) router.

Might see if I can get my hands on a different network card.

There don't appear to be any performance issues with the PC itself. The only issue is the "deflate failed" error.

As the reinstall didn't work for you, you might try deleting your game.prefs file. I recommend making a backup first in case it doesn't help. The file is located hereabouts: C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance

Buffer write failures sometimes occur with low HDD space, no free allocated RAM, data files which have grown too large, etc. These are some potential things to look for when a crash happens.

Does it still happen while connected by cable or is it just less often?

I have seen some improvement by taking unnecessary links out of my network setup. I seem to have the least number of problems when connected by cable to my router.

info: Error decompressing data from ip179-100-211-87.adsl2.static.versatel.nl:6112: CDeflateOutputFilter::BufWrite(): call to deflate() failed.

Have reinstalled Supcom and FA and FAF but it still occurs. Was reported last year, the previous report said it had resolved after reinstallation.

Would appreciate any help with this one as it's super annoying :)

Have run memory test, cpu test and gpu test with no obvious issues. Computer does not seem to struggle with the load at all.
