cant join games

I Cant join any games, I can host. when I try to join my name comes up as trying to join in the other persons game. I just get the "connecting" screen.

I have a Thomson ST536 modem. Port is forwarded to 6112.
I have tried both Steam version and the GPG version.

Is there any thing else I can try.
