If it was packet loss, wouldn't my connection in-game be affected too (Desyncs and such)? I don't have any problem at all in game so now I am wondering what the problem is...no chance I could get access to the FAF source right? :P

The only time I have ever experienced faf server dropping is when I using torrents. I have a cheapo router that my ISP suggested is having memory leaks.

Have/can you try an ethernet cable for a while. If this stops the drops then the issue is indeed wireless interference. It could be anything from your next door neigbour using a microwave to an electric drill.

Another important thing I forgot to mention is that sometimes I am in chat, I will get that dialog box (since it is modal I can't click anywhere else in FAF), but if I leave the dialog box open, I can still see people talking in chat in the background, so the connection still seems to be active.

I know it may not help or it may be too vague, but can you do a search in the source code (of FAF or whatever is running on the server) for the exact string: "FAF Server down. The server is down for maintenance. The program will exit now.". It might help to know what checks it fails to trigger that dialog box.

Thanks.

Shardul

After I changed routers, I keep getting FAF error messages that say: "FA Server down. The server is down for maintenance. The program will exit now." Only button is "OK" on dialog.

The messages appear at what seems to be random, whether I am joined a game or not. If I am within a game when the message appears, I am disconnected from all the people in the game and I have to restart FAF.

Edit: To clarify, I only get disconnected while in FAF lobby/supcom lobby. The actual in-game part of supcom works perfectly fine.

I let FAF through the firewall and I am 99% sure that my ports are forwarded correctly but none of this fixed the problem. It crashes while I am not joined a game so it is not power lobby like some have suggested.

So I ran Wireshark and I noticed it captured a bunch of stuff before I was forced to disconnect. I have no idea what it means so I was hoping someone would be able to interpret it and tell me what the problem is. I can post the whole log if it might help. If not that, then maybe if someone has access to the FAF lobby source, they could tell me under what conditions that error is supposed to show up. I can even look at the code if I had access to it...
