Hello,

Thanks for the swift reply. I see the issue now, I believe that might be due to the account under 'submittor' being an account that I have made on the FAF site with a family member of mine as I was trying to get them to try out FAF with me. That account must have been the one which the browser has automatically logged me in as, which I thought was logged in under my own account, 'speddo123'. I was meant to change the name on my own account, but seeing that I have changed the name of that account I'll just leave it be and find another name to change my account to.

This all does make sense now, thank you again for the assist.

Hello,
speddo123 and Algerian_General are different unrelated accounts, with different IP addresses an registration dates.
Algerian_General was registered 2018-03-19, while speddo123 has a steam linked and was registered on 2016.
speddo123 has no name history, but Algerian_General has, and one of its previous names is submittor.

So the account Algerian_General was named submittor, and was renamed into Algerian_General - while speddo123 was never rename and has nothing to do with Algerian_General as far as I can tell.

Are you sure you logged into the right account on faforever.com before renaming ?
Why do you have two accounts ?

Hello, I have recently changed my username on the official FAF site, but upon changing my name, I was told to re-login with my new credentials. As I do so, the client then tells me that I must link my account to steam? I have already done this on my old account username, and so I tried re-linking but the FAF site tells me that I have already linked my account under my old account username. Now I'm at a standstill, as there's no way for me to access my client.

Please note that I have attempted to change my username back to my previous tag, but somehow the site tells me that my name is 'The name is currently under use', which it isn't. I thought the username-change process would be smoother, and I hope this issue gets fixed soon. I have not touched my account as of now, so hopefully, you guys can let me log back in soon.

My details are:

Old username: speddo123
New username: Algerian_General
