This is after installing the
file FAForeverLobby-584.msi.

I think the error box that pops up could rather point one at the log file, instead of just guessing
what the problem is and pointing one at the same old links?

I did find the logs in the end, after downloading the source code. An examination also revealed that the problem
occurs when the attempt is made to load the DLL called "uid.dll". I don't have source for that DLL, so can't take it further
to figure out why it might fail to initialize.

Slightly off topic, but I have noticed other problems of instability wrt to windows. Mind you all five computers I own are near identical, but one of the onboard ethernet card is being detected, but still will not function, another one drops out internet connection, and thus FAF connection every few hours. Ubuntu, get your act together and make your OS more geared towards gaming as that is the ONLY reason I still buy a windows OS

www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851

i downloaded both and installed them, but the error message is still showing up, when i try to log in.

meanwhile i also installed c++ 2005 and 2008. and i have both versions, x64 and x86 installed, just to make sure ^^

i'm trying to install the FAF lobby version 580 and i run windows 7 ultimate, 64bit.

See, that's what happen when I remove the framework thingy in the installer :)

You need framework NET 4.0 up and running. You have to restart your computer after doing that.

Thanks. Turns out, installing NET 4.0 is not trivial. You win this round Microsoft...but you will rue the very day...

It seems like you are missing some important DLL.
Please install
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=8328 and
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=17851

You probably have to restart your computer after installing them.

Please visit this link case of problems:
viewforum.php?f=3

but installing those two did not fix the problem. Neither did updating windows. I have two other computers on this network, and both of them run FAF fine. How could it be that all of a sudden this computer can't run FAF? Is anyone else having this problem?
