I'm alone, you are plenty. That fix was in test for 3 weeks, no feedback. Too late for complaining.

It's not that easy to "copy order". It's barely impossible (and overly complicated).

Zep...

Jesus man.

suggested solution: if a unit goes offmap, then the orders are removed and it moves back onmap, give it a 5 second immunity from the "lose order if offmap rule" STARTING when its next order is issued by the owner. this will prevent most abuse of offmap and solve the problem

There is a rule, like that, but I guess it's broken somehow. Thanks.

OK sure but before you try silly hacks, doing it properly should come first.

Doing it properly would be: copying the units current orders, then issuing it its own unique order. Move back on the map, then follow old orders. That solves the problem completely, It even fixes weirdness where units that end up off map completely give up on their mission.

what i've just simulated is trying to attack a navy unit on the edge of the map (without the enemy unit).

but essentially, any time a torp bomber goes off map and comes back on, there's only a 25% chance it will follow your next order for it.

suggested solution: if a unit goes offmap, then the orders are removed and it moves back onmap, give it a 5 second immunity from the "lose order if offmap rule" STARTING when its next order is issued by the owner. this will prevent most abuse of offmap and solve the problem

units going offmap for 5 seonds aren't a big deal - even 10 seconds. you can't go very far in that period of time. but it would eliminate a lot of the problem i solved.

or perhaps another idea like this?

thanks for your help

I'm gonna be on a bus for 6 hours tomorrow, so I'll look into trying to change the behavior to avoid this kinda thing. At the very least, the order could be issued a little further in map side, which would solve the problem.
