only way to measure the game speed is to play the game and stop the time it takes to get to x time in in game minutes

we have a test map for that where lots of ASF spawn to fight each other so we can run that over and over again for x times and then compare the results - and by doing that we came to the conclusion that the simulation speed in faf is slightly faster than in steam fa

Also Kyryl is patching the exe to optimize the range rings which tanks the FPS the most.

And the others are so insignificant. Sure if you split attack 500 ASFs you get a spike in that tick, but that's it, and then it goes back to normal.

For example. Holding shift shows reclaim which is expensive. Split attack and autostorage allows many orders to be added instantly.

And by slightly, lets say around 5% faster.

what? if sim is not slower, game is not slower.

What are the expectations for the performance / speed of FAF vs FA.

I'm using an AMD FX 8320 with 24GB of ram and a 970 gtx. Now I fully understand that FA is single threaded performance limited and I understand that AMD doesn't do well vs intel in this area so i get that I'd see better performance with an i5 or i7.

What I'm wondering is what is the expectation? Is FAF designed to run as the same game speed as FA? or is it some kind of compromise between the original supcom and FA? For me FAF game speed is noticeably slower than FA right from the start and I'm not talking SIM speed or FPS. Although thats also an issue after the first 30 mins but understand that's just the reality of the cpu hardware.

Do other people that spent alot of time with FA previously need to adjust or noticed a real performance hit using FAF with the same settings.
