I reinstalled windows because I was on the insider builds and the recent build (fast ring) fucked some stuff up.

ETA my German isn't what it should be (what with my grampaw having shot all the Nazis and so such), it looks like your power management is in adpative mode? Try placing it in full performance mode.

It definitley gets better the less trees there are on the map. If almost all are reclaimed I have no issues.

try this. Putting the SIM and rendering thread on different cpus really helps. (and should be implemented into the client somehow)

I also moved the folder that stores the mods from my HDD to my second SSD. It didn't help.

I turned on the fps counter of nvidias shadow play. The fps are dropping as low as 32 fps depending on how fast I zoom in and out. Even when not zooming it jumps between 58 and 60 fps, insteaf of a steady 60 fps. I never had such issues before.

AA is turned off, LOD is on low, fidality on medium, shadow fidality on low, render sky disabled, display world border disabled, no bloom, etc pp. Assist to cap mexes disabled. All rings deactivated. 1080p @60hz

This is a mistery. Just a few months ago I even downsampled the game via nvidia settings from 1440p to 1080p, it still was working buttery smooth.

ETA never mind, I see you have made that clear. The stuttering while zooming is interesting... It almost sounds like a texturing/bus bandwidth issue like the good ol AGP days. The 960 should give you no issue however. Does the problem persist on lowest quality settings? Disable stuff like threaded optimization, vsync and so on and see what happens.
