You start the FAF client (the regular one not the alpha). On the top right you click options -> clear -> game files.

how do I go about clearing the game files? Also thanks for moving this and thanks for the help!

This is kinda the wrong subforum for that kind of issue. For technical issues you usually want to post in the tech support subforum.

Try clearing your game files. If you take at the topic message in #aeolus you will find instructions on how to do it.

failure to launch**FIXED

I cannot host, play, or view replays though faf. I can play online just fine through steam. I have doine a fresh install of sc and faf. Im running windows 7. I was able to play online just fine a couple months ago. I have also tried to run as admin.

When I try to join or host I get this:updating fafgamedata
downloading faf game data and then shows a link : content.dev.faforever.com/faf/xdelta/loc_0.3652.nxt-loc_0.3666.nxt.xdelta it downloads it then says error has occured in the FAF client

EDIT!!!!! I cleared game files and now all is well!
