Ok it was the cheat factor haha thanks for that. The original game didn't have that so I never really realised it was there.

Yes the game definitely doesn't crash on FAF but without it definitely does crash when ram usage hits 2GB. RAM usage doesn't seem to go above 800mb with FAF.

The game don't crash because of memory usage. There are some other issues that lead to a crash, but this should be fixed already.

If you are playing against the AI, don't use Adaptive. This does not mean, the AI playstyle is Adaptive. This will only choose one of the AI (rush, water, air) depending on what map you are playing.

Also the sorian AI don't send much units in early game, but can handle experimentals way better then the normal AI.

Also, if the AI is too weak, use an AIX and set Build and Cheat factor to 1.2 or 1.3. This should kick a bit more.

And this has nothing to do with your steam version.

Newbie issue regarding single player

Hello,

Not sure if this particular issue has been posted before but I had a bit of a search and couldn't see anything.

I am only currently interested in single player and the main reason I downloaded FAF was my game always crashes after it reaches certain memory usage and I read FAF fixes that(I tried another patch/fix which didn't work).

Anywho I haven't been able to test if it has even worked yet mainly because for some reason the AI(when game is loaded from BIN folder in FAF) is crap. I use the Sorianalx adaptive usually. They seem to be playing on easy. I have tried a few games with different maps and different civs and all the same result. I usually find the AI very difficult and quite a challenge especially when I team them up against me. But not when game is loaded with FAF.

Does anyone have any idea why this may be? I am thinking is it possibly because this game doesn't seem to be connected to my steam account and I have read some info on the forums saying that may cause issues(not sure how I would go about connecting it to steam?).
