We'd love to get black ops updated and we do have people working on being allowed to do this. Until then, unfortunately you can't run the mod with old versions of FAF online, so you need to resort to the workaround linked by Akinor (Though I don't recommend playing online with modifications like this, since you may well encounter desyncs).

But i have a question according mod compatibility. For example, in this commit https://github.com/FAForever/fa/commit/bb41a8b7905914dc5291cd8ba808b9d679c96b18 the function SetUpAltButtons is removed. BlackOps Global Icon Support uses this function and several mods need Global Icon Support. Thats not the only function or global variable (e.g. newTechUnits) which is moved/removed.
Sadly, not every mod developer is still active and can update their mod. Would it be possible to keep FA compatible with often used mods?
