Just going to add to what Aarhun's warning with faf should not be run as admin. It can and does cause problems. If it works for you thats good, just putting this here as an extra warning to people who are searching for answers to problems.

Running as Administrator fixed it!

Thanks for the help!
However the language of the game and pregame lobby is still english. (thats not terrible but i like the german version a lot more)
is there a way to change the language manually?

That's mean that no software or user can modify the files. You can only read them. So FAF read them to set your settings, but when you modify them, they are not save properly.

Search google for "read only file windows", this should point you to the microsoft website, "Change a read-only file - Windows - Microsoft".
I cannot post url.

For authorization, seach "set file authorization windows", and click on "File and Folder Permissions - TechNet - Microsoft" google result.
In the middle of the page there is a "how to".
Sometimes when re-installing a computer, some files are not accessible for the new user you have created. They needs admin right to do so.

You could also try to launch FAF in admin mode (right click "Run as administrator") but it may cause you some trouble afterwards.

But maybe it is not the problem, I cannot be sure :/

What does "red only" mean exactly? and how can i make sure my faf has the authorisation it needs?

I already tried making new ones and linking faf again a couple of times :C

I have no clue what the issue is..

maybe faf cant access the steam folder right or maybe its because i have them in E:\....

Edit: I just noticed FaF lobby not even keeping my usual selected color or any other settings when i join a pregame lobby.

This is usually caused by having no profile, but as you say you've made one, I'm not sure. I can only ask you to delete that profile and try making a new one.

So... I recently got a new PC and had to reinstall SupCom and the FAF Client.
In the process of moving all my data i somehow lost my original Forged Alliance Disc and bought the game on steam, downloaded it and launched it to try it out.
After creating a profile in Supcom i linked the gamefolder in Steam with my FaF Lobby and launched a game to check if everything is alright and noticed that ALL settings would be resetted aswell as the language! (graphics and gameplay-options) I also cant save any BO presets and have to do all the building placement by hand! (imagine the time it needs to set down a pd without hotkeys and presets )
Path for FaF client: E:\Program Files (x86)\Forged Alliance Forever
Path for Supcom in Steam: E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance

Since this is a persisting problem i dont know if there are any game logs i have to add here please forgive me for that :/
If theres any additional informtion you need to help me solve this feel free to tell me here or in FAF Lobby.

Btw. the only Thread i could find to this problem is over 2 years old and about using two monitors.
