I really like the idea of such a FFA tourney. It would be more of a fun and less serious tourney.
The maps should also vary for the different games (so the 6 player FFAs for example have different maps) to make it more interesting.
Also the last map should not just be a symmetrical 4 FFA map to make the "choose positions" aspect more interesting.
I put that in because the 1st player always needs an advantage. Otherwise the games would end when 1 or 2 players have been killed (because the others are in the next game anyways).

are there any tourneys where you have to buy in? say $10 to be involved, with the pool being divided between first and second place.

people wouldn't like it because BH/zock/etc would win all of the time but that's where divisions kick in ... have
a 2200+ division
a 2000+ and
a 1800+ division
and everyone else
... now it is much less clear who will win each one.

my chances of winning a 1300-1500 tourney aren't thaaaat remote ... it seems reasonable that 10 people would play and I could make $100.

11 months since we saw an Air Only Tourney.

"Rise of the Immortals" Tourney, I started asking questions about when the next one might be, probably something like this time last year. still waiting for any info lol.

Well a 4v4 tournament of course since it's the most popular game mode !!!

I see two kinds of 4v4 tournaments that could be interesting :

Relatively fixed teams of 4 players on varied maps. Say 4 base player + 2-3 substitutes for example.
Tournaments on some of the overplayed 4v4 maps to have a "best team" on them. Event the shitty/hated ones like thermo (and its rules), gap or seton, who cares ! Since they are overplayed it would be interesting to see high level of teamplay.
