as for your other question, if you wish to use all the improvements made by faf (e.g. balance and bug fixes), without logging in/launching a game through faf, you must launch through the .exe located in fafs program data directory, the link below explains the process

http://www.faforever.com/mediawiki/inde ... logging_in

dont forget, FAF has a multitude of mods and maps available for download. there is no harm is using faf :)

I'm new here, so I hope this is the right place to ask this question. If not, please forgive me. I've looked through the documentation and the forum and can't quite find the exact information that I'm looking for. Hopefully this is a easy to answer question.

I've seen repeated references to 'FAF Shaders' as an improvement to the game's 'vanilla' shaders. I guess what I'm asking is: How does this work? How do I get to use them? How do I know if I'm using them already?

In short, what do I need to do to make sure that I am using them? Until this point I have never played an online multiplayer game of FA (ever). I may or may not start doing so in the near future. At this point I am only playing local (LAN) games with family or friends. To do this I always run the game and play through the ingame 'Host lan game' menu. I do NOT have FAF running when playing. Do I need to have FAF up in the background?

Like I said, I hope this is an easy-to-answer question.

Thanks for your time

-Neolin
