Perhaps contact AMD for a fix.

I've never gotten FA to work properly with dual screen. One in three games crash.. :(

Thanks for the tip. Sadly, using your zip had little effect, I also tried zep's one from this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5434

As I mentioned on the other thread,

It's not replacing any files in my folder either ...
My bin folder has a d3dx9_31.dll but not a d3d9.dll
The zip file has d3d9.dll but not d3dx9_31.dll

Whilst searching I saw you helping a few other people with multiple monitors as well, so thanks on behalf of everyone.

I had the same issue you did.

FA gets confused and runs on one screen on low resolution

When I installed SweetFX it started working. Give it a try

There is a couple of threads on SweetFX if you search, here is one.

All three screens work at once if one of the other monitors is on a different video card.

Have you tried testing moving monitor #3 to the right side (not physically but in the Screen Resolution Control Panel window) so that it goes from left to right Monitor 1, Monitor 2, Monitor 3, just to see if it does anything?

I just tried and it doesn't have an effect, thanks tho.

Perhaps FA can't figure out which of the two additional screen is "the" secondary, especially since >2 simultaneous screens on a consumer graphics card was non-existent in 200

Perhaps ... I'm looking for a way to tell it what to do. On the other hand, like I said, 3 monitors was working for me in a different config recently.

I attach the requested image.

1 and 2 are both 1920x1080. 1 should be primary and 2 should be secondary.

3 is 1080x1920 and should be non-fa

Could you post a screen shot of your Screen Resolution (sample is shown below) and indicate which one is your main screen that you want FA on, which one is the secondary screen for FA and which is the screen that you want on but not to show FA content.

However I want to run forged alliance on two of them, even though I have three connected. The third would be displaying normal windows stuff - nothing to do with the game.

At the moment I have a problem where if a third monitor is connected, FA gets confused and runs on one screen on low resolution. If I disable one of the monitors in windows (it doesnt matter which one), then FA displays correctly on two monitors.

Now I know this is entirely possible, because I have been doing it for weeks just fine with two video cards (one card using two outputs, another card using one output). Now I want to run all three monitors from one video card (the card actually has 4 outputs), because otherwise photoshop crashes.

Basically I'm trying to avoid disabling monitors or rejigging cables whenever I want to play a game. Is there any way to tell FA which monitors to use/ignore?

graphics card: radeon r9 280x

in the log:

warning: GAL Exception: file : c:\work\rts\main\code\src\libs\gpggal\DeviceD3D9.cpp(189)
error: unable to create device

otherwise I think catalyst can be set up to autodisable on launch but i would prefer not to do this.

thanks!
