works for most of the old replays for me

additional: check out with what mods the game was played probably with an older verion of a 3603 patchmode or something like this
also check out youtube you may find it casted there

Hi,

i wanted to watch old replays of the imba cup (see link below). If i got it right it's not possible to watch replays of older versions with the actual faf.

Can someone give me a workaround?

Dude, you're awesome. I used the faf exe to open the right replay, and I'm finally able to watch the one that I want. Thanks for being patient and helping a lot!

No, it's not. It's not the file you think it is. You gave a name to a file that is NOT the replay you think it is. It's an old 3599 replay, on waters of isis, not a 3611 FAF replay on white fire.

Just renaming the replay to another name won't change its contents. (sometimes i wish it would...)

Your ACTUAL replay should have a name like this:
22 Feb 2012 23-57 lastGame.SCFAReplay

If you open FAF, click "BETA" at the menu up top and select "Report a Bug" and just click send report. I need to see some of your settings.

Both.

The FAF exe will ONLY play 3611 replays.

The old FA exe will ONLY play 3599 replays.

Yeah that's what I get too when I play it with normal FA. With the FAF exe file it just says "unable to load replay". Is there something wrong with the exe file or with the replay?

OK, here's the file with the date and time of the game, I'm assuming that's the replay that was automatically saved. But it still doesn't play the correct one for me. And yes, I have uberge3k's program, but it doesn't help at all.

Attach the "correct" replay with the file and date, please. I need to look at it.

Also, you can try uberg3eks replaymanager, it should take care of some of the replay chaos.

Well if they're automatically saved, then what do I use if I want to watch my replay? The file with the date and time of the game doesn't work either.
