Yes, I know how that comes. I have a surround set, but I removed the back speakers at some point. Now there's some sort of problem and it reverts to stereo. I'm ignoring that one, especially because it doesn't appear when I use the sound manager to setup the speakers as stereo (unfortunately, this kills the centre and sub for other things as well, so I'm going to let FAF find out about that problem on its own.)

Eh? How would your PC smell that the rear speakers aren't attached? Did you also pull the jack from the soundcard?

Try disabling jack detection and pick yourself what you want the PC to think it is connected to.

There are more reasons to disable it... one of it being that in some cases PC's with jack detection see pulling a jack as a reason to wake up (although that can be disabled another way).

I have attached the latest game.log, and there's virtually no difference.

This didn't work: the log is here. It's the same as the previous one, essentially.

Removing the game.prefs file also didn't work.

Edit: I just retried playing a campaign mission, but I got a fatal error on startup (shortly before that HQ guy would start saying something about the mission - which would make sense because the log says that there is something missing concerning movies). Here is the game.log

out of curiosity, have you (temporarily) disabled your antivirus and tried? I think it's worth a shot. My understanding of how it scans network traffic is that it holds it up for a very short duration while it scans it, then it lets go (i think, i've never actually researched on the technical side of how this works) and maybe that 'short hold' is what's causing the Desync?

i'm thinking the problem isn't with FAF or FA, or even Steam, because as you've reinstalled them, and because it's multiple maps, the problem still exists.

as always, if i'm completely off here, just gimma the boot, tell me to eat your shorts, and kick me out :P, but please correct me first xD

But shouldn't i have the same problem then if im using norton?

For me I've never had the desync unless i played my regular fa steam version either campaign or skirmish while using these mods

http://prntscr.com/2x9qhe

http://prntscr.com/2x9qze

quantum gates teleporter

http://www.moddb.com/mods/forged-allian ... ampaign-ai

and of course the campaign mod enabler

When i do campaign even once or skirmish even once i go back to faf try to play a game and it tells me desync i tried what reddev32 told me was to delete everything in

C:\ProgramData\FAForever

Then restart the client up and let it update and try a skirmish game which fixes my problem.

Now i cant say its the same for everyone but this did work for me.

Its worth a shot could fix a problem on the FA side of things i had to do this ( game.prefs file ) in-order to even get my SC or SC:FA to work cause my resolution is not within its boundries but like i said its worth a shot this might fix the issue.

Edit: (To moderators or admins) Also this guide would we worth a sticky since its a very critical guide that could help many.

There was a fire nearby, four people had to spend the night elsewhere (at the b side of he complex), but I live on the a side. No serious damage to the houses though, no injured people, so the firefighters did a good job.
