I guess there must be some problem with my config, I just can't figure out what. I've also tried installing the package with my anti-virus unactivated, but I just don't know what else I should test...

I've tried modifying windows configs for fonts and no combination helped.

I've tried your attached files, same result.

I have to say that faf worked several months ago (sorry I haven't played the game in ages and I don't remember when precisely), on my windows 7 computer.

I'm extremely suprised that this problem doesn't appear to be more common as it happened on both my PCs...

In your FAF install directory, there is a mpl-data folder.
ie.
Code:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Forged Alliance Forever\mpl-data\

by default.

There are two files and a font folder.

Try editing
matplotlibrc
matplotlib.conf

focusing on the fonts parameters, until it works.

Here is some files that should work better than the one packaged with the installer.

https://www.google.be/search?q=No+SFNT+name+table

Please post the solution if you find any. Seems related to fonts. (maybe you are using some font scaling option in windows, or custom dpi?)

I will bypass the lib if it doesn't load on the next lobby version.

There's very few info on this type of error. Most of what I have found is about programming directly in Python... and even there, almost no info and nothing that I can use.

The only page I've found that 'could' give some clues.
